Penta-Bot Re-Programmable Robot Circuit

Penta-Bot is a special robot circuit that can be used for five different robots including; line follower robot, sumo robot, obstacle avoider robot, light follower robot and voice follower robot. You can choose the robot ,that you want to built, from Penta-Bot’s menu using the buttons on the main circuit board.

Penta-Bot is re-programmable. Every robot has its own options in order to make the necessary settings according to your motors and design of your robot. After you have choosed the robot from the menu, you can do those settings.

Line Follower Robot Circuit

This circuit consists of two parts : main board and the line sensing board.

The voltage regulation part, the circuit of PIC16F628A microcontroller, L293D motor driver are placed on the main board. The four leds on two sides of L293D motor driver is for observing the outputs to the motors.

Four CNY70 reflective optical sensors are used to detect the path with 74HC14 Schmitt trigger. The circuit can be programmed to detect the white path on black surface or vice versa.

Sumo Robot Circuit

Standart sumo robot circuit has three main parts as: control part, opponent detecting part and the surface detecting part.

The control part includes the voltage regulation circuit, PIC16F628A microcontroller circuit, L923D motor driving circuit and the outputs for sensor parts.

Four TSOP1738 IR receiving modules are used to detect the opponent sumo robot. To detect the white path around the sumo robot arena two CNY70 reflective optical sensors are used.

Obstacle Avoider Robot Circuit

This obstacle avoider robot circuit is controlled with PIC16F628A microcontroller. The motors are driven by L293D motor driver. Voltage regulation circuit and a buzzer to give signal while detecting an obstacle. Two TSOP1738 IR receiving modules are used for the detection of obstacles.

Mini Sumo Robot Circuit

Mini sumo robot circuit includes also control part, opponent detecting part and surface detecting part like sumo robot circuit. It has three TSOP1738 IR receiving modules to detect the opponent and two CNY70 reflectvie optical sensors to detect the white path around the sumo robot arena.

The voltage regulation circuit, PIC16F628A microcontroller circuit and L293D motor driver circuit is placed on the control part.
